The addendum module allows you to collect supplemental responses from customers at checkout. You can add as many questions to your form as you want. The responses are exported to a delimited text file which can be imported into most database management systems for further analysis. You can also have those responses appear in the Email notification and batch processing.
The admin interface allows you to build the form with your store's questions using standard html syntax.
Common uses for Addendum are:
- collection of gift messages to be included with the gift order
- prompt for information about how users found your store, and to make suggestions to you
- promotional or membership codes (can be required)
- collection of secure data
New for Merchant version 3.x
Now you can place the questions on one of the three checkout screens. When using the OpenUI, simply select the screen from admin. When using the MMUI, editing the mmui.mv file will accomplish the same thing. You can also specify one or more of the questions to be required. Customers will not be able to complete the checkout if they do not respond to the required questions.
You can purge old questions from the active file and place them in a historical file in order to improve response time during order batch processing retrieval.
Note: The addendum module cannot be used in a store which uses the PayFlow Link payment system because it sends the customer to another domain. It will work with PayFlow Pro.
Configuration of fields requires experience with HTML coding of forms and tables.
